Maybe you should have a paypal donate button on this site?
Just to help those who put it all together and help pay for hosting?
What do others think?

Can NE1 help me install voices on my Nokia 3230, using TT5?
Ittakes ages to select show them and then I can't test or select them? I installed them via a card reader and also tried bluetooth?

What a great site Ray - lots of excellent content!
One thing I've been trying to figure out how to do that you or your readers might be able to help me with is this:
How can I clear or edit the Recent Destinations history without having to reset all the settings on my TomTom Go 500 :?:
I would really love a solution to this one :!:

Using TTGo 300 makes my job so much less stressful. Well done with this brilliant web site and all the work you have put into it. Very helpful. Just concerned about finding Shell stations poi list that is up to date. Will continue searching. So many shell stations have recently changed brands. My company only allow me to fill up at Shell stations with Shell Card.

Hi and thanks for your very useful software (Poi Extended Warnings), bat for my case it works only at 50%.
I have TOMTOM Navigator ver. 5.210 (5430) for pochet pc (Ipaq 2210) and I succeed only to create the file data.chk (which works). I don't succeed to insert most of 15 voices and not succeed to change the classical labels (Beep1,Beep2.....Polite1.....)
Can someone help me.
Tanks
Best regards

Hello and thank you for all the easy ways which your site proposes.
I use Tomtom Navigator 5 and I have updated the software: 5.21.
This update removes the file "TomTom Navigator.exe" and the file "data.chk" which I had modified with your program "poiextend".
The version 1.0b of your excellent program "poiextend" is not compatible with the file "TomTom Navigator.exe" of the update 5.21 for pocketPC.
Is what there will be a new version for this update?
Thank you for all Ray.

Hi Ray, Just starting with the Tom Tom 300 and we are having problems with routes for heavy goods vehicles (HGV), is there any file etc that can be included to allow you to select a route for HGVs in the same way as the quickest, shortest, avoid motorways selection, HGV can only travel at 56mpg on motorways and and a lot less on minor roads, on route planning it throws out the times,I do not know how these selections are made up, is it all worked out on speed depending on the class of road, advice will be appreciated. Mike

Ray, congratulations on producing very useful stuff, for Tomtom, especially the ability to change the in-built POI data (poi.dat) files.
I've been looking for a protocol to do this for a while, and I was directed to your site by 'Scoop' who has basically done what I wanted; change the poi.dat files to incorporate more useful, and accurate, poi data, and hence enlarge the number of user-defined categories. (I stayed with v5.1)
One thing which would be good is the ability to change the icon of the built-in POI's in the poi.dat file. (Just in case you get bored over Christmas)
Being a fellow Brummy, but one who has forgotten all his minimal programming skills (Fortran 4 only!), I wonder if at some point you could make a step-by-step list of simple instructions that would easily be followed by 'simple minds' like mine. At the moment I have your instructions plus some of 'scoop's + 'L-i-D'
Or perhaps get Scoop to do it!
Thanks, again, for producing a solution to improving the (generally useless) TT data in the poi.date file.
Have a 'bostin' Christmas!
